The CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) Qualifying Exam is a test that measures how well a candidate knows and understands how nursing is taught and practiced in the US. All nursing graduates who want to work as registered nurses in the United States should take the Cgfns Exam. The test also helps applicants figure out how likely they are to pass the NCLEX-RN, which is the national exam for nurses.
CGFNS EXAM- Structure
There are two nursing sections in the CGFNS test. The test is an objective, multiple-choice internet test. There are 260 questions in all, split into two sections. Candidates may submit their TOEFL, TOIEC, or IELTS test results as an eligibility requirement.
The part 1 exam has 150 questions and a 2 hour, 30 minute time limit for applicants. Once you have finished the first portion of the segment, you will get a one-hour lunch break.
Test results are valid for two years after the applicant successfully completes one of the English examinations (TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS) and the qualifying exam.

CGFNS Registration Process
The registered and first-level nurses in this program are the target audience. They received their education outside of the United States and must pass the CGFNS exam in order to continue practicing there. The registration process is straightforward and easy.
Online Registration: On the official website, you can register online (www.cgfns.org). Visa, MasterCard, and Discover/Novus are all accepted.
APPLICATION VIA MAIL
From the CGFNS form’s official website, you can download it. A properly filled-out CGFNS credit card payment form, an international money order, or a certified bank check are all required. The payment must be “payable” to CGFNS.

You will receive a letter from CGFNS informing you of your exam results eight to ten weeks after taking the CGFNS Qualifying Exam.The only one who sees your outcomes is you. Please allow up to four extra weeks for overseas deliveries as mail delivery varies from country to country.
DO I NEED TO SUBMIT ALL OF MY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS TO CGFNS FOR REVIEW?
Not all, no. For review, CGFNS will accept readable photocopies of some papers. Check with CGFNS first to see whether they will accept your personal paperwork or if they need official confirmation from the issuing organization. Additionally, as CGFNS confirms the validity of credentials, CGFNS retains the right to confirm any paperwork with the source organization.
IF MY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION HAS CLOSED, WHAT DO I DO?
You must get in touch with the organization or agency designated to hold documents for that institution if your school has shut down or is no longer in operation (such as a ministry of health or the national, provincial or state licensing authority in your country of education). Call the CGFNS Customer Service Department if you’re unsure of where to go.
IF MY DOCUMENTS ARE NOT IN ENGLISH, WHAT DO I DO?
Any credentials not in English shall be accompanied by a confirmed word-for-word English translation, signed with a certification of authenticity by the translator. If you are unable to offer an official translation of your documents, CGFNS will do so for an additional cost. .
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE MY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM APPLICATION WITH VALIDATIONS FOR ALL LICENSES I HAVE HOLDEN?
