LASUCOM counsels new nurses on patience
The Lagos State University College of Medicine has charged newly-inducted nurses to be caring and patient in the discharge of their duties.

The Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, said this in a statement on Sunday.
Olatunji-Bello, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Elias Wahab, was quoted to have said this while inducting the first set of Bachelor of Science Nursing graduates.
She said, “Nurses are always first and last point of contact of every patient, therefore, they must be caring and patient.
“Therefore, I want to admonish the newly inducted nurses to continue to improve themselves. The world is a global village and in order to be relevant, there is the need to acquire more skills.”
The acting Provost, LASUCOM, Prof. Abiodun Adewuya, added that the college is equipped to train nurses further in postgraduate degrees.
“I count myself lucky to be presenting this inaugural set of graduating nurses. All the nursing clinical skills laboratories in the college are fully operational and may soon commence Masters and Ph.D programmes in nursing after the induction of the second set of graduating nurses,” he said.

The Nursing Elder of the occasion, Prof. Olarenwaju Sowunmi, admonished the newly inducted nurses to contribute their quota to the delivery of quality nursing care to recipients of healthcare in Nigeria and globally.
