THE ELEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION INTO THE BASIC GENERAL NURSING TRAINING PROGRAM

  • Applicants should be above 18 years and not more than 35 years
  • The program spans at least three years
  • A minimum of five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Biology in their O’level examinations, which should not be more than two Sitting.
  • CERTIFICATE OBTAINED: Certificate of Registered nurse(RN) or Certificate of Registered Midwife (RM)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS INTO THE POST-BASIC NURSING OR MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME

Those who wish to apply for the Post Basic Nursing program must have the following:-

  • Applicant should not be aged less than 18 years or above 35 years
  • Five credit passes in SSCE, WASSCE/NECO, or GCE including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings.
  • The Candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • The program spans one to two years depending on the particular program in view.
  • Students who become pregnant during their training are allowed to continue the program and are allowed to take study leaves, have their baby, and resume studies thereafter. However, the rules stipulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria holds that students who are absent from class for twenty-one (21) days or more, are stepped down to a lower class.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS INTO THE BACHELOR OF NURSING OR MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME

Those who wish to apply for the Post Basic Nursing program must have the following:-

  • Applicant should not be aged less than 18 years or above 35 years
  • Five credit passes in SSCE, WASSCE/NECO, or GCE including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings.
  • The Candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • The program lasts for at least five years, and upon graduation, the student is expected to undergo a compulsory 1-year internship program in a Certified Health Care institution in the country.

Those who wish to apply for the Post Basic Nursing program must have the following:-

  • Applicant should not be aged less than 18 years or above 35 years
  • Five credit passes in SSCE, WASSCE/NECO, or GCE including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings.
  • The Candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Students under this program are committed to a one-year program/training.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION INTO THE PROFESSIONAL NURSING OR MIDWIFERY PROGRAMS

  • Applicant should not be aged less than 18 years or above 35 years
  • Five credit passes in SSCE, WASSCE/NECO, or GCE including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings.
  • The Candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • The Nurse/Midwife must have had at least one year of working experience, and must have a recent practicing license.
  • The Duration of study is variable with the different programs but ranges between one to two years.

Even with the above, the students are expected to meet up the specific requirements outlined by the institution of their choice.
