The board of the Nursing And Midwifery Council of Nigeria at it’s emergency meeting held in February 2022 has approved bachelor of nursing Science degree (BNSc) with post graduate diploma in Education (PGDE) or Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) Or Masters in Education (M.Ed) As a minimum requirements for teaching in nursing training institution in Nigeria.

The above decision of the board is in line with the Education reform of the Nursing And Midwifery Council of Nigeria which reiterates the importance of Nurses with highest qualifications to teach in the college of nursing Sciences for the award of National and Higher National Diploma (ND/HND) Certificate.

In view of the above, the council will no longer accept DIPLOMA QUALIFICATIONS without BACHELOR OF NURSING SCIENCE For Registration as An Educator.
